Q: IC asks for my Office CD during installation. Why?
A: You must have Outlook 2000 to use Info-connector. You also must have installed Collaboration Data Objects (CDO), an optional component of Outlook 2000.
To install CDO manually, follow these steps:
- On the Start menu, point to Settings, and then choose Control Panel. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- In the list of programs on the Install/Uninstall tab, find Microsoft Office 2000 and highlight it. Click Change.
- In the Microsoft Office 2000 Maintenance Mode dialog box, click Add or Remove Features.
- In the Update Features dialog box, expand the Microsoft Outlook for Windows tree and select Collaboration Data Objects. Click Update Now.
Q: I get an error 2740 during installation
A: This usually occurs if - for some reason - your Office installation has become corrupt.
This can easily have happened without you noticing anything - Running the Office Repair function will most likely fix this. To repair your Office installation, follow these steps:
- On the Start menu, point to Settings, and then choose Control Panel. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- In the list of programs on the Install/Uninstall tab, find Microsoft Office 2000 and highlight it. Click Change.
- In the Microsoft Office 2000 Maintenance Mode dialog box, click Repair Office.
- In the Reinstall/Repair dialog box, select the Repair error in my Office installation and click Finish.
Q: My license key does not work, why?
A: The { and } characters are part of the license key. Remember to include these.
Q: Where, in IC, do I type my upgrade license key?
A: If you are not running IC Lite, you have to be an IC Administrator (member of the ZoftArchiveAdmin distribution list) to update the license key.
- Select Tools/Options from the Outlook menu
- Select the Info-connector tab
- Type (or paste) the license key in the “License” field (including the {})
- Check Update Configuration
- Click Apply
- Click OK
Q: How do I change the fields on the data tab?
A: Both the values in the combo boxes and the labels on the data tabs can be changed.
Click the button to the right of the combo box to change the combo box values .
To change the labels to left of the combo boxes follow these steps:
- On the Tools menu in Outlook, click Options.
- Click the Info-connector tab.
- Click the labels tab, select and edit the appropriate label.

Q: How do I configure the News Summary?
A: The News Summary button can be configured to open a webpage using Company Name as an input parameter.
Follow these steps:
- In Outlook, click Tools > Options.
- Click the Info-connector tab. The syntax for using Company Name as a parameter is [CompanyName].
- The following example shows how to setup the News Summary button to perform a search on Goggle for the specific company: http://ww.google.com/search?q=[CompanyName]
Q: Some of my emails have "JO:" in the subject line. Why?
A: Incoming emails that are automatically journalized will get the “JO:” in the subject line, so that you can easily get an overview.
This also applies for emails that are manually journalized, using the Journalize button.
Q: How do I journalize existing documents?
A: To journalize existing documents or other files from the Windows file system, you can right click them and select “Send To” -> “Info-connector”
Q: When starting Outlook I get a message saying the Base Folder is not specified.
A: If Info-Connector™ asks you to specify a base folder, click the plus next to Info-Connector™ and then select the Info-connector folder.
You must click the plus next to Info-Connector™ to expand that folder, then select the "Info-connector" folder. No other folder will work!
Q: How do I link a contact to a company?
A: On the contact form just click the button labelled “Company” and select the appropriate company from the list.
To create a new contact from an existing company just open the company and click the button labelled “New Contact”.
Q: How do I include IC Company & Contact lists to my Outlook Address Book?
A: - Right Click the IC Contact folder, and select Properties.
Click the Outlook Address Book tab, and put a check mark in "Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book".
Name the address book, e.g.: "IC Contacts". This will give you the possibilities to select contacts from the "To..." field when creating a new mail.
If you want Outlook to search in the IC address book, select Tools/Services and the Addressing tab. add the IC Contacts to this list.
Q: How do I delete entries from my “Ignore List” in IC?
A: C:\Documents and Settings\[USER]\Application Data\Opportunity Manager\ IgnoreList.txt – holds a list of the mail receivers that you do not want to be prompted for (“Create New Contact?”), when journalizing outbound emails.
Q: I get "Msg-0103" A needed resource (OpportunityManager.Application) cannot be found, the application will not start ActiveX component can't create object?
A1: Use DelFormCache
- Close Outlook completely (open your Task Manager, click on Processes and see that Outlook.exe is not running)
- Go to your IC directory (normally c:\Program Files\Info-Connector)
- Find DelFormCache.exe and double click on it ( it might seem like nothing is happening)
- Open Outlook again
A2: Clear FORMS directory
- Close Outlook completely (open your Task Manager, click on Processes and see that Outlook.exe is not running)
- Go to C:\Documents and Settings\<profile name>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\FORMS and delete all contents of the folder
- Open Outlook again
A3: Reinstall ZoftArchive.ocx
- Go to Tools > Options > Other->Advanced options->Comm add-ins
- Click on Info-Connector, click on Remove, then click OK
- Go back to Comm addins, click Add
- In the file selector bar select "Show all files"
- Go to C:\Program Files\Info-Connector and select ZoftArchive.ocx, click OK
- Put a checkmark in front of Opportunity Manager, click OK
- Close Outlook, you will probably get an error when closing, ignore that
- Open your "Task Manager" click on "Processes" and make sure "Outlook.exe" is not running
- Start Outlook again and select BaseFolder
Q: When I try to open a form in Outlook 2002, I receive the following error message: "The Form you have selected...cannot be displayed, please contact your Administrator"

Q: IC is only journalizing mails on Contacts and not on Companies. Why?
A: Check permissions on Contact folder. "Edit item" must be set to "All"
Q: Expected Ord. in Pipeline is default 18-02-2002 Why?
A: This occurs with a new pipeline when you change stage without saving first. Save the pipeline and the default date will be correct
